BlogIraq Now posted

Hi everyone, Richard's newest soundtrack was just published - BLOGIRAQ NOW. I think this is one of the best we've ever done. Rich told me after he made it how psyched he was making it and how great he felt once it was done. I also think it's incredible and have been listening to it constantly since assembling it. I can't wait to get Richard's director's commentary recorded for this. For me producing this piece was kinda hard. A lot of the songs had odd endings or beginnings so it took a lot of editing to put it together. I also really struggled with the poster. Richard had taken a Polaroid of the front page of the New York Times with the words Bomb Iraq Now written over it and then with the word "bomb" written over as "blog". He gave me the Polaroid which was kind of fuzzy and dark, along with the original newspaper. I re-photographed both using my dad's Fuji Finepix SLR and then imported the images into Photoshop. I wasn't sure how to make the Polaroid which has a 4x3 aspect ratio into a poster so I decided to lay it on an image of some oil stained concrete. Credit for the concrete image goes to Mayang's Free Textures . By using the replace color feature of Photoshop I was able to make the oil look more like blood and also whiten the newspaper and highlight the word "blog" although it's still not as legible as I'd like. The next step for STF in general is to get Richard to record some director's commentaries about the soundtracks he has created. He is so compelling when he talks about music and the visuals associated with them. Peace, James
